Creating lasting relationships with our clients is extremely important to us at Number 8 because they enable us to evolve your style with trust and experience.

Since opening in 1992 we have always used Paul Mitchell . They have always been cruelty free, never tested on animals , they’re vegan AND fully recyclable packing which is reducing our environmental impact. We also offer a refill shampoo bar in the salon saving you 10% each time you bring your bottles back to be refilled.

At the end of the day we are just a gang of friends creating great hair and loving our planet as much as possible along the way now time to meet our team.

CLAIRE PASCOE

Director

Claire started Number 8 Hairdressing 30 years ago and has inspired many hairdressers throughout her career. With the passion and knowledge behind her she is always happy to meet new people and style their hair with confidence.

Taking 12 months to travel Europe recently has given Claire so much inspiration and creative energy to release and work with you as a salon guest to achieve a hairstyle that makes the most positive experience you’ve ever had.

FRANCESCA MERCER

Senior Management

Francesca’s loves experimenting with anything new and finds it keeps her energised and creative at work. Whenever our colour range brings out new shades, she’ll be first to put them to the test! Building trust with her clients is super important and having fun with hair makes being a hairdresser exciting along with endless amounts of chatting!

You’ll also find Chess spending time with our Number 8 Brides; she loves bridal hair and everything about it (hair up is her thing) so when there is a wedding Chess is the first port of call.

KIRSTY GALLAWAY

Training Manager

Kirsty likes that hairdressing has evolved into everyday ready to wear hairstyles that people can manage at home themselves using a wider range of products and tools. In-between clients you’ll find Kirsty sipping tea and turning the music to anything pre 90’s.

SUE CARRINGTON

Artistic Stylist

Sue has been working in the hairdressing industry for 41years. Sue has taught hairdressing at college and continued hairdressing when she lived abroad.

Returning to England 4 years ago and joined the team at number 8. Sue won the loreal colour trophy for the region and went to the royal albert hall to compete in the final!!

KAT THOMPSON

Artistic Stylist

Kat has worked as a hairdresser for over 20 years and moved to Cornwall in 2016. Kat is passionate about hair and if she’s not doing hair she’s usually thinking about it! Kat loves learning new techniques and keeping up to date with as much as she can. Kat enjoys all aspects of hairdressing and getting to know her clients so she can get the best style for them, helping people feel great when they walk out! Kat especially loves working with long hair, you can’t beat a good curly blow dry!

ASHLEIGH PARR

Senior Stylist

Ashleigh has been with Number 8 since she was 16! We trained Ashleigh and are proud of the stylist she has become. With a kind caring methodology, she always makes her clients feel at ease and comfortable at their appointments. With building experience Ashleigh is a fabulous hairdresser.

ALANA WHITE

Stylist

Alana is our newest member of the Number 8 and makes a great addition to the stylist team. Her bubbly and chatty personialty can make you feel at ease throughout your appointment . She loves cutting a beautiful bob and also with having curly hair herself she has all the tips ready to help you tame your hair.

You’ll find Alana on the rugby pitch in her spare time.

KIMI PITMAN

Junior Stylist

Akimi joined our team as work experience 1 day a week whilst studying Hairdressing at college and we just love her energy she brings to the team. Qualifying in summer 2022 with the best grades Akimi is starting to build her clients in the salon as well as being our front of house on reception to welcome you for your appointments. We really look forward to watching Akimi grow her career as a hairstylist with us at Number 8.

RACHAEL EDDY

Receptionist

Some of you might recognize Rachael as she has previously worked at /number 8 as a hairstylist. Rachael is now back to be our receptionist and is perfect to answer any questions you might have when booking in for your appointment. Rachael loves travelling and has recently retuned from Australia so has plenty of stories and tales to share she is a fantastic addition to our growing team.

Chloe

Hairdressing Apprentice

Chloe is in her first year of training with us at Number 8 and showing immense talent. Chloe is friendly and attentive to all our salon guests. She’s a brilliant shampooist and can make you have a powder nap with her head massages!

Alison

Salon Assistant

Ali is a wonderful addition to our team and really makes sure our guests have everything they need possible whilst spending time with us. When Ali clocks off for the day she spends her afternoon with her little dog Willy walking around Cornwall exploring.
